GiveNKind provides resources donated from 160+ companies across the United States to 700+ nonprofits in Chicagoland. Volunteers make this possible, helping us intake truckloads of goods weekly, stock our shelves, and fulfill hundreds of orders monthly. Volunteering at GiveNKind has a ripple effect across our entire area, making communities more resilient and keeping essential resources out of our landfills.

What do Volunteers do?

Every day is different at the GiveNKind Center, depending on the donations that are arriving and leaving that day. Typical activities include pulling nonprofit orders, sorting donations, inventorying, and loading nonprofit orders into vehicles.

How Should i Prepare?

GiveNKind is a working warehouse; volunteers should dress for the weather and wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes. Volunteering with GiveNKind involves walking and lifting up to 10 lbs. When you arrive, our staff will meet you, explain the day’s activities, and match you with an experienced volunteer.

how old do i need to be to volunteer?

GiveNKind is a working warehouse; volunteers must be 16+ years old.

Do you provide letters for community service hours?

Yes, we provide letters for community service hours. If you are requesting a letter for school or a club, submit this form. For court-mandated community service, visit www.givenkind.org/community-service.

Can I schedule a group volunteer event?

Due to high demand, GiveNKind offers group volunteer opportunities exclusively to companies and organizations that support our mission through a minimum financial contribution, sponsorships, grants, or product donations. For more information email contact@givenkind.org.
